Polygon Properties expands its Jersey commercial property portfolio

Polygon Properties Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Polygon Group Limited, has purchased 5 Anley Street in St Helier, Jersey, a strategic acquisition to add to the group’s Jersey property portfolio.

The property comprises 9,500 square feet of purpose built office accommodation and is located in a prime location near the heart of St Helier’s growing International Finance Centre. The building is fully tenanted.

This is the third commercial property purchased by Polygon Properties in recent years, the other two being Forum block 3 and Forum block 4 in Grenville Street, St Helier. The group also owns a number of commercial and residential properties in Guernsey.

Polygon Properties was advised on the acquisition by Carey Olsen and the financial structuring was supported by ABN AMRO.

Alex Belcher, Director of Polygon Properties, commented:
“We are very excited to add this asset to our Channel Islands portfolio. The property provides excellent office accommodation in a prime location, and the acquisition fits in perfectly with our current investment strategy.”

Polygon Sponsors The Guernsey Bach Choir

Polygon is delighted to announce that they will be sponsoring The Guernsey Bach Choir for the next five years.

The Choir was formed in February 2007 by conductor Alan Gough, and it has given many concerts in various venues across the Island in that time. Although named The Guernsey Bach Choir, this vocal ensemble does not limit itself to the music of one composer alone, but now has a rapidly growing repertoire of anthems, part-songs, madrigals and popular music both sacred and secular.

Alan Gough commented:
“It’s fantastic to be able to secure the next five years – these funds keep our choir of 30 members performing across the Island throughout the year as well as giving us the opportunity to bring over top professional soloists from the UK to support us which provides our audiences with truly memorable and thrilling performances.”

Polygon’s 40th anniversary party goes with a bang

Fire dancers, balancing acts and jugglers formed just part of the entertainment at Polygon’s 40th anniversary party which took place earlier this month at Castle Cornet. The castle was transformed from medieval fortress to modern-day gala venue with the various performers located around the grounds for the one hundred or so guests to enjoy with their pre-dinner drinks and canapés. This was followed by dinner in a marquee on Top Lawn. The evening culminated in a spectacular firework display over St Peter Port and a finale combined performance by all the evening’s entertainers on the Lower Battlements. The event was a double celebration as it also marked the ruby wedding anniversary of Polygon’s Chairman Martin Belcher and his wife Cathy. Martin commented: ‘We were delighted to welcome so many of our friends, clients and colleagues who have supported us over the past four decades as Polygon has evolved from an aviation insurance company and underwriter to the independent property and business investment company that it is today. It was the perfect way to mark such an important milestone for the organisation.’
